Rex Endowment names program director

RALEIGH, N.C. - The John Rex Endowment in Raleigh has tapped Kate Shirah to serve as the group's program director.

Shirah previously served as an instructor and field coordinator in the department of health behavior and health dducation at School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In her new role, she is charged with focusing the funder's resources on strategies that will create change, and will assist with proposal development.

"Kate's education and experience in public health will influence the Endowment's new emphasis on a clear theory of change and best practices to make that change," Kevin Cain, president and CEO of the endowment, says in a statement.

Shirah holds a master's in public health and health behavior and education.
